Description
While this may look like an average canoe to an outsider, this boat holds incredible importance to the lake tribe of Gator Bay, who happen to live on the shores of Lucky’s Lake, an icon and treasure to all who worship the great albino lake gator, Lucky.
It is common, albeit horrific, knowledge that once a month, members of the lake tribe will sacrifice a captured member of a neighboring tribe in the name of Lucky, but even worse is their near-daily “tests of fertility” of any given person. This person is sent out onto the lake as a potential sacrifice to Lucky, with only two respected outcomes--either Lucky eats them, and they were infertile and otherwise useless, or he spares them, and they are fertile and have been blessed by the Lake God himself. This boat, to the lake tribe, is an icon of God’s judgement.
It should be noted that once in a blue moon, the person in question being tested for fertility will fall out of the boat and be presumed dead, only to crawl back to shore and sneak their way into another tribe, allowing for potentially fertile people to live outside of the fertility tribe.
